Murray “Rex” Epperson

Murray “Rex” Epperson, age 75, of Brierfield, AL passed away on December 8, 2023 in Alabaster, AL, surrounded by those who loved him. Rex was born on March 30, 1948 to his parents, John and Lois Epperson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Juanita Epperson, and brothers, Roy, Mike, and Mark Epperson.

Rex is survived by his wife of 55 yrs, Wanda Epperson; daughters, Candi (Jeff) Robinson, and Bobbi (Dale) Patterson; grandchildren, Ally (Johnathon) Causey, Tyler Robinson, Lacie Patterson, and Joseph Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Kilee Ann Thames, Truett Causey, Finley Blackburn, and Copeland Causey; brother, Ted (Joanne) Epperson; sisters; Jo Ann Blackwell and Debbie (James) Spears; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he considered family.

Rex was retired from the logging business and an avid Alabama football fan. He loved being around his family and friends especially in his “Tavern.”

Funeral services for Rex’s will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Randolph, AL, with a time for visitation one hour prior to his service. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Officiating his services will be Brother Joey Green. Charter Funeral Home of Calera directing.

    Rex was one of the finest men we ever knew. He had a good heart, treated everyone like family, loved Alabama and his family as much as anyone could. He will be missed by so many. We love you Rex and will miss you! Herschel & Patty
