Marcus Alan “Flip” Phillips

age 59, of Montevallo passed away Monday July 16, 2018. Marcus is survived by his Fiance, Patricia Duncan; brother, Joey Phillips and Jack Gordon; son, Donald Glenn Deason; daughters, Rebel Smith and Johna Phillips; son, John Phillips; grandsons, Chase Deason, Dylan Smith, Dalton Phillips and Issac Looney; granddaughter, Clara Smith. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tylyn Phillips; brothers, Larry and Rickey Phillips. There will be a visitation Friday, July 20, 2018 form 6:00 – 8:00 pm and a funeral service Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm both at Charter Funeral Home in Calera.

    Just seen him couple days before always kissed me on my head, you will be missed by many , Its was Gods will, cant questen God. there was a reason maybe to keep him from suffering though the cancer. praying for the family . love all yall

    Alan,…a man you could count on. The guy could do just about anything, a lot of skills. I think his most important virtue was his heart. He was a good man. A dude you knew was out there and had your back. I was glad to hear he had been going to church and it looks like Jesus was ready for him to come on home. We must help his family and friends until our time has come, because I know Alan would have. Rest easy brother Flip, we will see you on the other side. Thankful for his life.
