James Dennis Spears

James Dennis Spears, age 69, of Brierfield, AL passed away at home with his family on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. James was a devoted husband and a proud father who loved his family dearly. He was kind, generous, had the biggest heart, and touched so many lives. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.

James owned his own drywall company for 34 years. He loved spending time at his shop with family and friends. Whether it was talking business, telling stories, or hanging out; it was his favorite place to be. Most importantly he loved his family and friends who have touched his life through the years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth Spears and Plumer Lee DeWeese Spears; and brothers, Steven C. Spears Sr. and Mitchell A. Spears. James is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Debbie Epperson Spears; daughter, Jennifer Spears Rodenhauser (Parker); grand dog, Phinn; brother, Eddie Wayne (Maureen) Spears; and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery 113 Shady Grove Loop, Randolph, AL 36792. A Celebration of Life will be held at his shop after the service at 257 Oakley Station Rd, Randolph, AL. 36792. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Cancer Society. Charter Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
