Deacon William Peter Alexiou

Deacon William “Bill” Peter Alexiou (73) went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2023. His battle with serious medical issues never dulled his larger-than-life personality to all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill was always quick to tell a story to connect with others. He was a special education teacher and a Master Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from both after twenty-six years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his spouse, Mary Maxwell Alexiou, his daughter Dr. Jennifer (Heath) Adrianna Alexiou-Ray, and three grandchildren, Maxwell Carroll Ray (13), William “Hunter” Ray (10), and Alexa Eirene Ray (7). Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, AL, at 3 pm, with a funeral mass to follow at 4 pm. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL, on Thursday, February 9, at 1:15 pm.
