Brenda Lynn Harwood

Brenda Lynn Harwood, 84, of Alabaster, Al, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 10^th, 2024.She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Brenda was born October 7^th, 1939 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She was predeceased by her parents, Loyed and Mattye Stripling, her sister, Dorothy Lewis, and her former husband Allen Harwood.

She is survived by her son Mark Harwood (Karen) of Alabaster, Al, daughters Cydney Harwood of St Louis, Mo and Amy Stout (Will) of Bobligen, Germany. Also surviving are grandchildren Kendra Harwood of Denver, Co, Marlana Harwood of Birmingham, Al, Jordan Sharble of Trussville, Al, Harrison Stout of Virginia Beach, Va and Reagan Stout of Bobligen, Germany. She is also survived by a numerous host of nieces and nephews and her childhood best friend, Kakki Hogan.

Brenda was raised in Birmingham where she attended Woodlawn High School before her family moved to Demopolis, Al her senior year where she graduated from Demopolis High School. She attended The University of Alabama where she majored in Radio and Television. After college she went to work for Alabama Public Television. She spent a couple of years there when an opportunity at the Social Security Administration became available. She took that job and retired after 28 years. After retirement she went to work at UAB Medical West working in patient relations. She enjoyed that for several years until she retired for good. Brenda enjoyed visits with family and the many friendship she developed with the ladies in “The Red Hat Society.”
