Robert Henry Dunn

Robert Henry Dunn, age 86, of Alabaster, went home to Jesus on Thursday, December 12, 2024. His church home was First Baptist Church of Alabaster.

He was a veteran who served in the Coast Guard Reserves for 8 years, then went on to serve in the Alabama National Guard for 20 years. He was deployed during Desert Sheild/Desert Storm.

Bob was the son of Paul and Virginia Dunn and grew up in Miami. He worked as an outside sales rep for Unisource paper company for 33 years, then had a lawn care business after he retired.

After he and Bonnie married in 2003, they traveled extensively in their RV with their puppy companions for eight years then continued traveling without the RV. It was a wonderful period of life. He also enjoyed leather craft.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debbie; brother, Paul; infant daughter, Kathy; and nephew Timothy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bonnie Dunn; sons, Bobby Dunn (Patricia), Michael Dunn, and David Dunn all residing in Jacksonville Fl.; sister, Ginger Dunn (Jackie) of Miami; brother, Bill Dunn (Linda) of New Orleans; granddaughters, Taylor, Bailey, Amy, Katie, and Shonnia; great grandchildren, Karsyn, Savannah, and M.J.; niece, Cassie; nephews, William and Paul.

His celebration of Life service will be held on January 17, 2025, at Charter Funeral Home, with a gathering beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by his service at 12:30 p.m. Bob will be laid to rest at the Alabama National Cemetery with a committal time to start at 2:00 P.M.
