James “Jim” O. Phillips

James O. Phillips (Jim), age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was born on March 20, 1939.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Phillips; his mother, Audrey Hughes Miles; his brother, Tommy Moon; and his sister-in-law, Pat Phillips.

He is survived by his partner, Shirley Greer; sons, David Phillips (Misti) and Donny Phillips; daughter, Dawn Eschenbrenner (Gregg); brothers, Bobby Phillips and Harry Moon (Sheila); grandsons, Drew Phillips (Rebecca) and Griffin Phillips; granddaughter, Mackenzie Phillips; great-grandson, Tripp Phillips; great-granddaughter, Delilah Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Community Center in Calera.

Jim touched many lives and will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help others, and his ability to fix anything.
