Jeffrey “Jeff” Ray Smitherman

Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Ray Smitherman, age 68, went to his forever home on Friday, October 16, 2026.  He graduated from Jemison High School and later became a certified welder. He spent the next 47 years working for Thompson Tractor Caterpillar dealer, where he was the used equipment coordinator. Once he retired, he had a little time to fish and ride motorcycles and enjoyed growing flowers and fruit trees. He also loved spending time with family. Jeff also had a church family at The Church at Brierfield.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Smitherman, his father, Floyd Smitherman, and brother and sister Ricky Smith and Donna Smith.

Jeff is survived by his son, Shannon Smitherman (Yvette); mother, Lois Smitherman; sister, Linda Shirley (Butch); sister, Grace Pope (Sam); sister Vicki Jarrette; niece, Somer Miller (Leo) and grandniece Lily; nephew, Chance Shirley (Stacey).
