G. W. “Duck” Scurlock

G. W. Scurlock “Duck”, age 90, went to be with his Lord and savior on Friday, October 16, 2026. Duck was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving father, family man, and an avid fisherman. He was born May 15, 1936, in Bibb County, AL to his parents, Aaron and Eveline Scurlock, both have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Scurlock; granddaughter, Amy Scurlock; brothers, Aaron Scurlock Jr. (Aumey) and Ed Scurlock; sisters, Magelene Smith and Yvonne Parks.

Duck is survived by his daughters, Susan Blackmon, Gail Turner, and  Janet Parks; son, Billy Scurlock; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Duck will be Thursday, October 22, 2026, in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating his service will be Rev. Rusty Jones. Duck will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
