Tommy J. Wilcox

Tommy J. Wilcox, age 73, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He started working as machinist in 1971 at the Cotton Mill in Columbiana until 1984 when it closed. He then went to work at Alabama Dynamics as a machinist until he retired.
Tommy was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He would attend NASCAR races whenever possible. He enjoyed listening to and watching the Alabama Football games. Tommy also enjoyed going to the casino with friends and family. He always had the best of luck. Playing horseshoes with friends and family and entering tournaments where he was known as “The Legend” from all the first place wins he had. He enjoyed camping and fishing with friends and family.
He is preceded by his loving wife, Barbara Gail Wilcox; parents Jewlene Henderson and Floyd Wilcox, Sr.; brother, Floyd Wilcox, Jr.; and sister, Linda Barrett.
Tommy is survived by his children, Christy Wilcox Hinds (Sonya Bryson), Melissa Roberts (Rodney) and John Eric “Bo” Guff (Kristi); grandchildren, Robert Floyd Hinds, Gwendolyn “Erin” Azevedo (Victor), and Rodney “Little Man” Roberts; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Hope Hinds; siblings, Darlene Littleton (Joey) and Philip “Tiger” Wilcox (Teresa); and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
