Geraldine Brown Thrasher

Geraldine Brown Thrasher, age 87, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 6, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 19,1938 to her parents, W.V. “Virdie Brown” and Thelma C. Brown. Geraldine was the owner of W.V. Brown Lumber.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lloyd Brown, Hilda B. Nelson, Bill Brown, Eldon Brown, Raymond Brown, and Julius Brown. Geraldine is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Thrasher; children, Carol Bice, Jamie Thrasher (Karla) and Kelly Clark (John); sister, Louis Smitherman; 10 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Geraldine will be laid in the Alabama National Cemetery, with a committal service on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. Brother Joe Clark will be officiating.
