John “Frank” Peeples

John “Frank” Peeples, born December 19, 1942, went to his Heavenly home on September 14, 2026.

Frank was born and raised in Columbiana, Alabama, but his lifelong career in the textile industry took him to several places throughout his life. From Alabama to North Carolina, Orlando, Florida, and Georgia, Frank left a little piece of himself and touched the lives of many along the way. His career eventually took him to Honduras, where he spent the final chapter of his professional life.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman who spent many years deer hunting throughout the great state of Alabama. His favorite place to hunt was Joinertown, Alabama, where he made many memories and enjoyed one of the things he loved most—being outdoors.

In the 1990s, you could often find Frank cruising up and down Lay Lake on his pontoon, enjoying the water and, of course, catching a few fish along the way. And if you knew Frank, you knew you were going to hear all about his outdoor adventures. Like any good fisherman, he was never afraid to stretch the size of those fish just a little bit.

Frank was quick with a joke and loved nothing more than keeping the people around him laughing and enjoying their time together. He was also quick with a compliment—always ready to tell someone something good about themselves, and sometimes even when they probably hadn’t earned it. That was just Frank. He had a way of making people feel good and bringing a little laughter wherever he went.

And if you knew Frank, you knew there was one thing that was never up for debate—his love for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Every Saturday during college football season, you could find him in his recliner, coaching the Tide like his job depended on it. There was never any question about which team he pulled for. Roll Tide!

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Peeples Poe (Marcus); his son, J.C. Peeples (Stacy); and his grandchildren, who lovingly called him by his most favorite name of Pop: Cameron Wiggins, Raven Davis, Stephanie Peeples, Jessica Peeples, Jesse “Bud” Peeples, Derek Reis, and Angel Reis. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, who added even more love and joy to his life.

Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Peeples; his parents, J.C. Peeples and Alice Walton Peeples; his beautiful sister, Betty Chambliss; and his little brother, Gerald Peeples.

Frank leaves behind a family who loved him, grandchildren who will forever know him as Pop, stories that will continue to be told, and memories that will bring both laughter and tears for years to come.

His life was filled with family, adventure, laughter, a few tall fishing tales, Alabama football, and a whole lot of love.

He may have gone home to Heaven, but the stories, the laughter, and the love he gave us will never leave us.

Rest easy, Pop. Until we meet again.
