Cynthia Quintulla Cofer

Cynthia Quintulla Cofer, a woman of exceptional strength and a generous spirit, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on November 16, 1938, Cynthia’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her family and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Cynthia is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, James Allen “Bud” Cofer; her sons, David Lee Cofer and Larkin Ray Cofer; and her siblings, Woody Smitherman, Betty Martin, and Sarah Franklin.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving sons, James “Jimmy” Cofer (Debbie) and James “Buddy” Cofer (Jennifer); her sister, Mary Frances Cofer; and her grandchildren, Dave, Kevin, Justin, Chuck, Andy, Emily (Cofer Nall), and Kyle. Her love also extends to a beautiful generation of great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
To know Cynthia was to know her love of family, her competitive spirit over a good card game, and her joy in playing with her great-grandchildren. She was also a voracious reader, rarely found without a book nearby, always lost in a good story.
While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find peace in the profound love she so freely gave. Her legacy of grace and resilience lives on in the family she built and adored.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, June 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Charter Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. Services are entrusted to Charter Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society. https://www.cancer.org/donate/hope.html
