Marie Arlene Baldwin
Marie Arlene Baldwin, age 79, of Alabaster, passed away February 13, 2024. She was a loving wife, a proud mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She was born and raised in upstate New York, moved to Florida where she married and started a family, and finally settled in Alabama. Marie had a long and storied career over the years, including motorcycle mechanic, daycare manager, beautician, electrician’s assistant, and over-the-road truck driver. She loved Jesus and the church and worked many years caring for the parishes and their priests. Marie always had many irons in the fire but nothing more important than loving on and caring for her husband, Mason, and her family. He was her “Duke” and she was his “Duchess”. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Mason Williams Baldwin Jr. Marie is survived by her children, Karina A. De Block (John) of Alabaster, Mason W. Baldwin III (Mary Ann) of Hayden, and Zabrina B. Berry (Marc) of Alabaster; 11 grandchildren, & 9 great grandchildren. Her services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle in Montevallo, Tuesday, February, 20th, 2024. Visitation at 10 A.M. followed by the service at 11 A.M. She will be laid to rest in Montevallo City Cemetery.
Your mom was a beautiful lady inside and out!! I would see her at church now and again but she used to come to the Wednesday Masses at the student center at Montevallo where I could talk with her for a little bit. My condolences to all of your lovely family members on losing such a wonderful lady. It was a privilege to be part of her funeral service.
