Clarence Martin Caudill, Jr.

Clarence Martin Caudill, Jr passed away on the 6th of November 2025 at his home in Birmingham, surrounded by loved ones. He was born to Hazel and Clarence on March 15, 1946, in Mississippi. He lived between Mississippi and Texas during his childhood then moved to Alabama.
One of his proudest accomplishments was his time in the Alabama National Guard where he spent nine years and completed his service with the rank of 2nd LT. After his time in the military, he worked for Bell South, which he retired from in 1991. He kept busy after retirement occupying himself with multiple jobs.
He enjoyed watching football (Roll Tide), fishing, and gardening. He had a passion for working with his hands whether he was forging, fixing something that was broken, or taking something old and finding new purpose in it (he always had a project or 10 he was working on). Nothing slowed him down; he did more with 9 ½ fingers than most people did with 10.
He was a people person and never met a stranger. He would be the first person to offer a helping hand and expected nothing in return. Those who knew him, knew he had a smart witty answer for everything and he always tried to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife Donna. His children, Scharlene (Manny), Joseph (Bryneth), Craig (Angelia), Gary, and Judy; grandchildren, Jonathon (Amanda), Brittney (Lighter) as well as six additional grandchildren; great granddaughter, Rylee; brother, Martin (Olivia); Aunt, Betty and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Clarence, and his siblings, Linda, Baby Jane, Troy Lee, and Charles Floyd.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, in Coleman Cemetery at 12 p.m. (126922 US Hwy 78, Riverside, AL 35135). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Building Homes for Heroes (buildinghomesforheroes.org).
