She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Michael C. Reeser. They were married December 26, 1969; children, Michael Andrew Reeser (Denise May Reeser) of New Prague, MN and Mindy Michelle Reeser Collum (Robert Collum) of Calera, AL; grandchildren, Shelby May Reeser, MaryEmma Rose Reeser, Brooke Helen Reeser, Maleah Michelle Collum, Robert Mckinnely Collum, and Macaleb Reese Collum; sisters, Linda Gail Turney, Sandra Jane Martin, Francis Marie Taylor (Wesley), Wanda Kaye Grubbs (Ray); special friends/sisters, Debbie Snow, Judy Posey, Annette Vardamen; special brother, Dale Glass; special children, Jo Ellen Brashier Alvarez, Shellie Brashier Stout, Bobby Jay (JJ) Brashier, and Melissa Brewer; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews that she loved as own children as well.

Norma Jean was a hard-working wife, mother, and friend to many. When Norma moved back to Alabama to live with her sister Sandra and her husband Jim, she met Mike and their family began. Making a home in Calera, Norma always provided a loving home for all who entered.  The home was always a steady stream of friends, family, and neighbors.

While raising her children she never turned a blind eye to others, practically raising many children in Shelby and Chilton County. When a friend was in need, she was there. Friends, her children’s classmates, or children she babysat never went hungry. A constant care giver, Norma cared for her mother and others in their final years, never wavering in her love and support in their time of need.  Her ability to care for others extended into her job at Ahava Nursing Home where she not only worked, but bonded with many of the residents and befriended them in their final years.

Norma had a hard exterior and a stubborn side, but a soft heart. She deeply loved her sisters, her momma and daddy, friends, husband, children, and grandchildren. Her most endearing and important values will live on in her children and grandchildren; hard work, dedication to helping others, and to love and support others.

The world is a sadder place without Norma in our lives. But she touched each and every one of us and has left us with memories we will cherish forever.  We thank you for being here with us today to celebrate the life of our mother, wife, and nana.
