Chester Ellison, Jr.

Chester Ellison Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 5, 1943, to his parents, Odis Chester Ellison Sr. and Fannie Ellison, both have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his son, David Ellison; his brother, Douglas Wayne Ellison; and niece, Cameron “CiCi” Lunsford.

Chester is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Ellison; son, Chad Taylor; daughter, Samantha Taylor; grandchildren, Clara Taylor and Olivia Taylor; brother, Greg Ellison; sister, Darcia Ellison; nephew, Brett Lunsford; nieces, Enley Lunsford, Brooke Jones and family, Chattley Lunsford; sister-in-law, Michelle Lunsford; brother-in-law, John Lunsford.

A Funeral Mass for Chester will be held at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.  He will be laid to rest at the Alabama National Cemetery at 1:15 pm with military honors.
