Bob grew up in the West End & North Highlands areas of Birmingham, where he received the gift of salvation from his Lord & Savior on April 12, 1949 at Calvary Baptist Church where he was a member until 1965.  Bob’s education was at Lee & Hemphill Elementary Schools, Adamsville Jr. High & Phillips High School where he graduated in 1952.  Bob led a varied and rewarding career in the Surveying, Engineering & Realty fields, working at J.M. Keel & Associates, Walter Schoel Engineering Co., The Rime Companies, Blain Realty Co., Paul B. Krebs & Associates and B&N Surveying Co.
