Henry Wiley Carter

Henry Wiley Carter, 91, of Pelham Alabama, entered eternal rest on April 2, 2023.  Henry was born in Pike County, Alabama to John Henry Carter and Loretta Spivey Carter.  Goshen, Alabama was his childhood home, eventually moving to Tuscaloosa to attend the University  of Alabama.  He entered the Army during the Korean conflict, eventually receiving an honorable discharge.  Thereafter he completed his studies at the University of Alabama and began employment with State Farm Insurance Company in Homewood, Alabama.  It was there that he met Josephine Patricia Reina.  They were married in February 1956, and remained married until his recent death.  “Jo” was the love of his life.  Henry especially loved family life.  He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers John and Rufus.  He is survived by his wife Josephine; children John (Jan) and Jody (Paulette); grandchildren Emily, David (Paige), Jordan (Patsy), Taylor (Taylor) and Hunter; great grandchildren Kennedy, James, and step great grandchild Ben McGeehee.  Henry was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.  A private memorial service will be held in the near future. Memorials can be given to the charity of your choice.
