Clyde Harrison Park

Clyde Harrison Park, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 4, 1940 to his parents Alfred and Rebekah Park, both have preceded him in death. Clyde is also preceded by his loving wife of 54 years, Tonye Park. He is survived by his daughters, Angie Shirley (Tim) of Birmingham, AL and Jennie Pike (Shane) of Atlanta GA; grandchildren, Seth Vining (Mikala), Lucas Vining (Micah), Abigail Vining, Harrison Pike (Laura Lee), Anna Laura Vining, Mary Elizabeth Pike, Jonathan Pike, Lindsey Eskew, and Shelby Carr; great grandchildren, Adeline Dennis, Oakley Vining, Ella Carr, Camron Carr, and Emilia Carr; and siblings, Benjamin Park, Betty Anne Barkley, and Martha Hollis.

 Clyde proudly served in the US Air Force from 1961-1965. He was a member of Westwood Baptist church and enjoyed attending Bible Study and fellowship. Clyde was also a member of the Birmingham Street Rod Association and Good Guys Car Club. He enjoyed car shows and showing off his classic cars. Clyde spent a lot of his time outside planting flowers and enjoying God’s beauty. Above all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Clyde never missed and activity that his kids and grandkids participated in. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Clyde was the Very Best Pop!

Services for Clyde will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held at 8 am followed by a service at 9 am. Clyde will be laid to rest with honors at the Alabama National Cemetery at 10:15 am. Pastor Scott Morton will be officiating.
