Nancy Lynn Stennis Kitts

Nancy Lynn Stennis Kitts, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1949.

Nancy was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, John Kitts; her parents, John and Christine Stennis; her brother, David Stennis; and her two sons, John Stennis Kitts and David Triplett Kitts.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer Davis, and son-in-law, Stephen Davis; her brother Orliss Stennis and wife Martha; her sister-in-law Martha Stennis (David), as well as many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Nancy was raised in DeKalb, Mississippi. She later attended the University of Mississippi, proudly cheering for Ole Miss despite being surrounded by a family of Mississippi State fans. During her college years, she was an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, an experience and sisterhood she treasured.

Nancy had a remarkable gift for hospitality. She had a way of making everyone who entered her home feel as though they belonged there. Whether around her table or in her living room, she created a place of warmth and comfort. She was also exceptionally talented in the kitchen, using her passion for cooking to author four cookbooks, including two published in partnership with Masterbuilt.

She found joy in tending flowers, working in her yard, and admiring the beauty of God’s creation. Her greatest passion, however, was sharing the love of Christ. Nancy wanted everyone she met to know their Lord and Savior, faithfully offering Scripture, encouragement, and prayer to those around her. She spent many years leading women’s Bible studies and gently pointing others back to Christ through both her words and the example of her daily life.

Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that she is in the presence of her Savior, reunited with John and their boys, and experiencing the fullness of God’s promises. Her legacy of faith, hospitality, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026.
