Lorne Ernest Nunnally

Lorne Ernest Nunnally, age 92, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at home after a short illness.  He graduated from Jones Valley High School in 1949, then joined the U.S. Navy where he served from 1950 to 1954.  He was employed by the U.S. Post Office for 32 years.  In retirement he raised cattle and had a large garden until he became disabled.  He was a member of the Alabaster Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jones Ernest and Perry Cooke Nunnally; and his brother, Richard Wayne Nunnally.  He is survived by his wife loving of 58 years, Annette Jacobs Nunnally; son, Lorne Wayne (Julie) Nunnally; grandchildren, Nathan and Alyssa Nunnally; and niece Peggy (Muril) Oakes.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29^th a visitation will be held 10 am followed by a service at 11 am at Charter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Nathan Nunnally, Walter Jacobs, Kenneth Jacobs, Daryl Knight, Elijah Knight, and Zachary Knight.  Honorary pallbearer is Marlon Parker.
