Jimmy Gilbert McVay

Jimmy Gilbert McVay, age 83, passed away in the comfort of his own home in Thorsby, AL on Thursday, September 26, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 28, 1940, to his parents, James Dalton McVay and Ruthie Lee Hughes, both have preceded him in passing.  Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Lula Mae McVay; sons, James Ronald McVay (Peggy) and Daniel Luis McVay (Araceli); daughter, Donna Lee Howard (Mark); 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will begin at 5 pm followed by a service at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice in Jimmy’s name.
