Harry Eugene “Bud” Jensen III, USMC Major (Retired)

Harry Eugene “Bud” Jensen III, USMC Major (Retired), passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Born in Chicago, IL on July 20, 1942, Bud spent most of his childhood in Minnesota. After graduation from the University of Minnesota, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. Bud spent 21 years as a pilot in the Corps, including duty in Vietnam and Japan. Upon retirement from the Marines, he spent the next 17 years as a commercial pilot with Continental Airlines before retiring in 2002. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy Jensen.

Bud is survived by his wife, Mary Jensen; two stepsons, Chuck Houston of Columbia, SC and Terry Houston of Laguna Beach, CA; one stepdaughter, Jodee Houston of Foley, AL; three step grandchildren, Patrick Houston of Los Angeles, CA, Robbie Houston of Bessemer, AL, and Dustin Dowie of Foley, AL.

A memorial service for Bud will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at New Hope CP Church (5521 Double Oaks Lane, Birmingham). A gathering will be held at 1:30 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm. Brother Donny Acton will be officiating.
