Faye Glass Davis

Faye Glass Davis, 82 of Columbiana, Alabama left her pain behind to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, August 21, 2015. Faye was born in Siluria to the late Forrest and Vadie Wilson Glass on September 5, 1932. After her marriage to Donald A. Davis they lived in the Siluria area a few years. In the mid to late 1950’s, they and their children moved to Hoover, AL when only a drugstore was there. She opened a beauty shop in the sunroom at her house. She had many clients and became life long friends with them. In 1999 she moved to Columbiana, AL. Arguably, the best cook, and was there for her family, extended family and friends in time of need. She was a member of Alabaster First Assembly of God aka Kingwood Church since the 1950’s. While living in Hoover they attended Rocky Ridge Baptist Church for a time. The last few years, she has been a part of Wildwood Chapel, Columbiana, AL. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Davis; infant daughter; son, Dennis; brother, Hermie Glass and sister, Mavis Sweeney. Her survivors include her son, Doyle Davis; daughter, Donna D. Starnes (Buddy); brother, Dewey V. Glass (Sue) and sister, Janice Sparks (Robert) grandchildren, Jon Paul Starnes (Christy), Shea Starnes and Kym Sowell (Michael); great grandchildren, Ethan Taylor, Emma Taylor, Will Latocha, Kara Sowell and Reed Sowell and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends 12-2:pm, Monday, August 24, 2015 with a Funeral Service to follow at 2: pm at the funeral home. Her going home service will be conducted by Rev. Buddy Starnes, Rev. Darian Holcombe and Rev. Mack Ritch. Pall bearers are Michael Sowell, Ethan Taylor, Warren Sweeney, Shawn Sweeney, Greg Glass and David McAlpin. Honorary Pall Bearers are Jon Paul Starnes and Ken Vice. The burial will be in Elliottsville Cemetery, Alabaster, AL.
