Jerry Lynn Jones

Jerry Lynn Jones, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2026. Born on December 7, 1954, in Colbert County, AL, Jerry was a man of unwavering faith in God, wisdom, kindness, and love. He embodied the definition of a “Servant’s Heart”, and epitomized class.

 Jerry loved hard work. He retired from Dunlop Tire in Madison, AL, US Steel in Fairfield, AL, and Evonik Industries in Birmingham, AL. Jerry was a loving, caring, gracious father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was an avid Alabama fan. Although, you could catch him pulling for teams of other colors (especially Auburn or Mississippi State), just because he had loved ones and grandchildren with ties to those schools. Jerry loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, boat, and kayak.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arthur and Frances Jones of Tuscumbia, AL.

 Jerry is survived by his two sons and their wives. Marc and Stacy Jones and Adam and Pamela Jones. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Lexi Sharpton (Kallen), Joshua Kiker, Kade Jones, Tucker Jones, Allie and Journi Sharpton.

Jerry is also survived by two brothers Lee and Dwight Jones and sister Linda Campbell.

Services will be held at Charter Funeral Home in Calera, AL on June 25, 2026. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 4 pm. The memorial service will begin at 5pm.
