Kevin Fredrick White
Kevin Fredrick White, age 64, of Shelby, Alabama, but formerly Alabaster, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Minnesota on June 30, 1957 to Kenneth and Zelma White. Kevin is preceded by his father, Kenneth.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue; daughters, Jennifer White Cottingham (Kess), Sarah White Kendrick (Jonathan) and Jaime White; grandchildren, Lacey Kate and Beau Lathan Cottingham; mother, Zelma; siblings, Steve White (Barb), Sue White Orvis, Jeri White.
Kevin loved Jesus with his whole heart and valued scripture. He loved his family and friends and was also a lover of dogs. He just wanted everyone to be happy and is known as “the peacemaker.” His hobbies include all things nature (the weather, bird watching and the night sky), sports (Roll Tide!), science and how the world works and working with his hands and remodeling various aspects of his home. He was in the process of fulfilling two life dreams—reconstructing his own home on the lake for Sue.
On Saturday, August 7, we will gather for a Celebration of Kevin’s Life at 2:00 p.m. with the visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home.
Kevin was my friend for many years. I loved him like a brother. Heaven is a happier place with him. I miss him dearly!
Kevin was also a good Diver for Cooper High School back in the 70’s in MN. He used to make fun of my laugh and imitate it. Great guy. Heaven got a good welder if they need one. He once welded a trampoline for me and I always appreciated that. Thanks again Kev. RIP

This is Tom, and Kevin and I used to ride our bikes to diving practice at sunrise from Crystal to New Hope.
Our diving career spanned the high school years
He was one of the “3 Musketeers” that everyone dreams about, as neighborhood friends, sharing our family time between his place and mine. Ken and Zelm, along with Sooz, Little Geri, and sometimes Steve were that neighborhood “2nd Family” for me.
Kevin will be welding with Gold from Now On, ya get to do that kinda stuff in Heaven……
Worked with Kevin over the years during outages. Always was laid back and ready to answer questions I had. Super knowledgeable and could tell you where any obscure weld was in the plant. Glad he is in a much better place. Looking forward to seeing him again.
I enjoyed working with Kevin. He will be definitely missed for his knowledge and style to solve very challenging issues. He was very cooperative with always smiling during interaction.

A true friend, possessed honor and integrity. I respected him and trusted him. And his laugh always put a smile on my face.
Kevin was a wonderful neighbor and friend with a kind, kind heart. He will most certainly be missed.
