Emile was one of the very finest men I have ever known. We met on the tennis courts at the University of West Florida. I believe this was 1967 or 1968. We played often and became fast friends. The spring of 1970, we won the Andalusia Al men’s Doubles. It was a great victory for us. We played quite a few tournaments together. Emile moved several times due to work but always took time to keep in touch. In 1980, Emile made perhaps the greatest decision of his life other than accepting Christ as his Savior. He married Moniaree, an excellent choice. Upon meeting her before their marriage in Pensacola at a professional tennis tournament, I was greatly impressed with her beauty, great personality and high intelligence. Through their many decades of marriage, she has proven to be a fantastic partner for him. Over the years, I visited Emile and Moniaree at their home in Alabama. I will miss him.
