Larry Joseph Bailey

Larry Joseph Bailey, age 78, went to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday, December 24,2025. He enjoyed fishing and was the happiest when helping friends with their projects and fixing machinery. He was a very laid-back, low-key person when everyone was around and he saw challenges as learning opportunities. Larry served in the Air Force and did one tour in Korea and one tour in Thailand. He was a member of the Oak Mountain Church of Christ and served the Lord faithfully.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Linnell Bailey.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Connie Bailey; sisters, Carol Watson, Lynn Ware; nieces, Lee Ann Perry (Johnny), Jennifer Simmons (Randy), Pam Nesmith (Joel), and nephews, Gary Fly (Katherine), and Jeff Watson (Jodi).
A visitation will be held at Charter Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. followed by service at 10:00 a.m. Larry will be laid to rest in the Alabama National Cemetery with a committal time at 11:45 a.m. Bro. Bob Hutto will be officiating.

Met Larry when he was a buyer for Shelby Steel, we did a lot of business together, he and Connie moved into the same neighbor hood where I lived in Pelham, Alabama, he was a prince of a man, will miss him
