Joseph Michael Schmidt, Sr. “Mickey”

Upon leaving the military, he worked for 28 years as a coal miner for Jim Walters Resources eventually rising to the position of mine foreman. A memorial service will be held at Morgan United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Mickey will be laid torest at the Alabama National Cemetery in a private service. In lieu of flowers, make donations to St. Jude, Morgan UMC, or the charity of your choice.
