John Stephen Burke
John Stephen Burke, of Columbiana, passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Waldo Burke, Jr., and his brother, Ralph Earl Burke. He is survived by his mother, Earlene Burke; his loving companion, of 12 years, Lucinda (Cindy) Griffin; sons, Dillon and Matt Burke, and their mother Stacy Walker Burke; Landon Burke, and his mother, Tonya Anderson.
In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind his nieces, Ashlyn and Grace Burke; nephews, Jonathan and David Burke, and Granville Bryant; as well as many cousins, friends and loved ones.
The Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Dogwood Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Dogwood Grove Baptist Church building fund.
I know he will be missed. I have so many fond memories of John AKA BabyDaddy . That was our code name for many many years. He is still in my phone that way. His humor and whit I will never forget. On Feb 13,2022 I got a text from a random number. I didn’t know who it was and all I got back when I asked was “ I’m hurt that you forgot about me BBYDDY”! I knew immediately who it was. That was John. He would text you when you needed a laugh. That was 5 days after my Dad died. He knew what I needed. No matter how long it had been since we spoke. He was that kind of Friend. Peace and love my Friend.
