Robert “Bob” Alfred Scott
Robert “Bob” Alfred Scott, age 78, was called home by his Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Bob was born on January 9, 1947, in Bridgeport, AL, and grew up in Jasper, TN. He graduated from Marion County High School before joining the Air Force.
Bob was a Communications Specialist in the US Air Force 63rd Military Aircraft Wing during the Vietnam War. He then had a long career in the insurance industry, where he was a broker for several companies. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Minnie Kate Scott. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Scott, and his sister, Mary Ellen Lane.
Bob is survived by his sister, Rebecca Webster; brother, Tim Scott (Lee); nephews, Robert Webster (Dana) and Jim Scott (Melissa); niece, Ellen Kowalczyk (Adam); and stepsons, John Melton (Amye) and Jeff Shank (Jennifer); stepdaughter, Vicki Smith (Ray). He is also survived by 3 great nieces, 3 great nephews, and 7 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Bob will be laid to rest in Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville, TN, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
We’ve gone from playing family tag football this time of year to maybe watching grandchildren play. It’s a tough season of life, but believers know as blessed as we are living in these times that there are much better times ahead. Rest in Peace Bob.
