Jo Ann Dick Weatherly

October 7, 1935 – October 27, 2024

Jo Weatherly passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024.

Jo was born on October 7, 1935 in Madison Wisconsin, after high school moved to Childersburg, AL with her parents, later moved to Birmingham, AL where she graduated from Birmingham Southern College while working and raising her 2 daughters.

Jo was an avid bridge player obtaining the status of Life Master (with the help of her bridge partner and friend, Janet), was a world traveler where she met many lifelong friends, loved to write poetry (especially for her girl’s school projects), and loved music.  She performed with the Harmony Hills Barbershop Chorus and her most memorable performance was on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Jo retired from Baptist Health Systems where she began her career as Director of Business Affairs at the Princeton campus and then retired as Administrator of Princeton Towers.

Jo was an active member of Riverchase Presbyterian Church where she had been an elder and active in their choir.

Jo never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a beautiful smile.  Even in her last days she was still smiling and laughing with friends, family and caregivers. She was a true inspiration to all that she met.

She is preceded in death by Waldo and Mildred Dick and her 2 sisters Marlys Cramer and Barbara Davis.  She is survived by her daughters Debbie Myles and Sandy Gosdin (Brad), grandchildren Matt Myles (Heather), Chris Myles (Samantha), Will Gosdin (Jess), Abby Bennett (Will), Daniel Gosdin(Leah) and  great grandchildren McKenzie, Marlo, Collin, Merritt, Luke and Eli.

The family would like to thank Jo’s wonderful caregivers Delilah, Linda, Freda, and Ora.  Without them we would have been lost.

A memorial service will be held at Riverchase Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Visitation to immediately precede the service at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Riverchase Presbyterian Church, 600 Riverchase Pkwy W., Birmingham, AL  35244
