Donald “Don” Ray Murphy

May 7, 1952 – September 5, 2025

Donald Ray Murphy, a lifelong resident of Bibb County, Alabama, age 73, passed peacefully September 5, 2025. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Haysop Baptist Church Cemetery, (2420 Haysop Church Rd Centreville, AL 35042) in Eoline, Alabama.


Don is survived by his son, Drew Murphy and his wife, Mary Beth Murphy, his daughter Beth Murphy Moore and her husband Kevin Moore, and Pat Avery Murphy. Grandchildren, Payton Murphy, John Paul Moore, Joy Anna Toxey, Jon Otis and Julia James Murphy. He is also survived by his sister, Lola Ann (Bonnie) Wooley (Ed Wooley) and brother Larry Murphy. He is preceded in death by his father, James William (J.W.) Murphy, Brent, Alabama and his mother, Annie Jo Boswell of Centreville, Alabama, and his brothers, Frankie Murphy and Danny Murphy.

Pallbearers will be Alvin George, Butch Suttle, Billy Wayne Broadhead, Jason Odom, Elliott Murphy, and Kevin Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike McMillan, Sr., Danny McMillan, Cal Goodson, Mike Mitchell, Mickey Johnson, Scott Lightsey, Terence Purifoy

I lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to OneTwentySeven Ministries, #1 industrial Road, Brent, AL 35034, Venmo @onetwentysevenministries.

Charter Funeral Home will be directing services.

    Don was one of a kind, a true friend and help to all who knew him. He was so loved and we will always miss him. Rest in peace, sweet friend. I will always cherish memories of you. We will meet again. ❤️

      Don was my good friend he would always cutt up whenever we saw each other he was always the same to me no matter what I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend, my sincere condolences to the family.

    I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Don, my first cousin. I have great memories of visits with Aunt Annie Jo and family when we were kids. I pray that good memories will help heal broken hearts for his precious family in the coming days.
