April Jean Crawley

December 26, 1983 – August 1, 2025

April Jean Crawley, 41, of Chelsea, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

April was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, nurse, and faithful servant. Her life was a beautiful testament to compassion, faith, and grace. Whether singing soprano in the choir at North Shelby Baptist Church, belting Broadway and Disney tunes with her children, or offering comfort as a hospice nurse, April brought warmth and joy to every life she touched.

A graduate of Jefferson State School of Nursing, April dedicated her career to caring for others in their most vulnerable moments—first in hospital settings, and later through her deeply impactful work in hospice care. Her calling was clear: to be a light for others when the road was dark.

Faith and family were her greatest joys. She was a proud “band mom,” a passionate supporter of her children’s dreams, and an unwavering partner in her husband’s walk through life. Her giving spirit extended beyond her home through her work with Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child, where she shared the love of Christ with children around the world.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Brandon Crawley; her beloved children, Michael Brayden Crawley and Lillian Jean Crawley; her mother, Wanda Cox; and her parents-in-law, Terry and Jacqueline Crawley; as well as countless extended family members, friends, patients, and church family who were blessed by her presence.

April’s life will be honored in a Celebration of Life service held at North Shelby Baptist Church on Saturday, August 9, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in April’s memory to Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that was especially dear to her heart.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

“Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
