Edna P. Rushton

Edna P. Rushton, age: 75 of Alabaster, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Born in Mississippi to parents, C.C., and Celia Page Penna. Later moving to Memphis to start her career. Philip met Edna when she worked for Spiegel Catalog Organization where she became manager. Then moving on to her supervisory and management roles with South-Central Bell (BellSouth), until her retirement. Devoted wife for 56 years of marriage. Member of First Baptist Church Alabaster for over 20 years.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, Philip L. Rushton. Edna had a love for everyone she met throughout her life and will be greatly missed by all who got to come across her path in this life.

Funeral Services for Edna will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church Alabaster starting at 12 noon, with a time of visitation there starting one hour prior to her service. Dr. Steve Andrews will be officiating her services. A burial will follow in the Alabama National Cemetery with a committal time starting at 2:00 p.m. Charter Funeral Home in Calera will be assisting the family with her arrangements.
