Charles “Bob” Robert Boling

Charles “Bob” Robert Boling, 78 years of age, passed on Sunday January 28, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones.

Bob was Born on July 28, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Elizabeth “Betty” and Charles Boling. He was the youngest of two children, preceded in death by his sister, Terry and stepfather, Edgar Ames. Bob moved at a young age to Colorado where he forever considered home. He graduated from Westminster High School in Colorado then joined the US Navy. Bob married Sandy and they had two children, son Michael and Daughter, Shannon. Later in life Bob married Gretchen and together they enjoyed life in Arvada, CO.

Bob had a love for ice hockey, woodworking, motorcycles, and the Rocky Mountains. He spent his career in Denver where he retired and then Bob and Gretchen moved to Nebraska to enjoy retirement for several years. Bob and Gretchen were members of the Lutheran Church where Bob grew closer in his faith, serving the church. Bob and Gretchen then moved to Calera, Alabama to be closer to their family.

Bob leaves behind his loved ones- wife, Gretchen Boling, son, Mike Boling (Diane) daughter, Shannon Hall (Chris); granddaughters, Noel (Jordan) and Jordan (Aaron); stepson, Scott McDuffee (Kimberly); grandsons Tyler, Zach, Justin and Nathan; and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will have a Celebration of Life to honor Bob and all the memories they cherish at his daughter’s and son-in-law’s home in Calera, Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family welcome friends to come and go to share in their remembrance of Bob. In lieu of flowers please donate to Habitat for Humanity or Two by Two Animal Shelter in Bob’s name.
