Bert Leon Crocker

Bert Leon Crocker, age 79, of Heiberger, Alabama, passed away on June 28, 2026. Bert was born to C.O. (Buddy) and Fern Crocker on October 25, 1946, in Heiberger, Alabama. He worked his early life in the log woods with his family and worked for the Perry County and Bibb County Highway Department until his retirement.

Bert is preceded in death by his parents C.O. (Buddy) Crocker and Fern Perry Crocker; sister Sadie Lou Crocker Jones; and grandson Jason Bert Crocker.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette Crocker; sons Mark (Terri) Crocker, Jeff (Rita) Crocker, and Danny Crocker; grandchildren: Cristy Tucker, Ann Brewer Kornegay, Lynnette (Jarred) Kornegay, Hunter (Erika) Crocker, Katie (Travis) Burks, Cody (Anna) Crocker, Ethan (Rachel) Crocker, and Ben (Kalynn) Crocker. Great-grandchildren: Levi Davis, Nolan Davis, Kolt Kornegay, Cruz Kornegay, Ruthi Kornegay, Adalee Kornegay, Harper Crocker, Lily Crocker, Elcie Crocker, Hazel Kornegay, Annielou Burks, and Beauregard Burks. Siblings: Ernest Crocker and Mary Jo (Roy) Averette.

A graveside service will be held for Bert on Friday July 3, 2026, at Sardis Cemetery in Heiberger, AL. starting at 10 a.m. Betty Marheina will be officiating.  Pallbearers will be Cody Crocker, Ben Crocker, Hunter Crocker, Ethan Crocker, Jarred Kornegay, and Travis Burks.
