John David Kitts

John David Kitts, age 76, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1949, in Salina, Kansas.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Louis Kitts, and his two sons, John Stennis Kitts and David Triplett Kitts.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy Kitts; his daughter, Jennifer Davis, and her husband, Stephen Davis; along with many extended family members and dear friends who loved him deeply.

John grew up in a military family and had the opportunity to live all over the world during his childhood. Of all the places he called home, Japan remained his favorite and the place where he spent the longest period of time. Eventually, his family settled in Birmingham, Alabama.

John proudly served in the Army National Guard. His greatest accomplishment in life was marrying the love of his life, Nancy, and raising his children. He spent many years working in the home building industry, helping provide the materials and supplies needed to build countless homes throughout the community.

One of John’s greatest gifts was his ability to create beauty from the simplest things. He loved woodworking and had a remarkable talent for taking an ordinary piece of wood and turning it into something meaningful and beautiful with his own hands.

John spent each day looking for God in the ordinary moments of life. More than anything, he wanted his family and friends to know their Lord and Savior. He faithfully shared his love for the Lord with everyone around him and was a shining light for Christ. The void left by his passing is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
