Sarah “Sally” Ann Davis Horne

Sarah “Sally” Ann Davis Horne, 87, of Millbrook Alabama, passed away on December 2nd, 2022 after suffering a stroke in September and was struggling with the complications.  Sally was born on May 29th, 1935 to Evelyn and Norman Davis in Talladega, Alabama.  After high school, she attended Samford University before marrying Gerald William “Bill” Horne in 1956.  Bill and Sally went on to have a son, Gerald Steven “Steve” Horne in 1958.  Sally worked for over 30 years at First Alabama Bank, later Regions Bank, until her retirement.  Later in life, Sally cared for Bill until his death in 2018.

Sally was very independent, living alone and driving herself to shopping and doctor’s visits.  She loved going to eat and visit with her friends and also visiting thrift stores.  Sally was a big Auburn fan and would always wear some Auburn gear every game day and would be the first to shout “War Eagle!”  She will truly be missed by her friends and family.

Sally is survived by her son Steve, her sister Mary Alice Bachman, her nieces Janet Holmes Tamucci and Kim Bachman Derrick and her grandson Mason Izach McEvoy.

Alzheimer’s and dementia were real concerns for Sally and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, at http://act.alz.org/goto/sallyhorne
