Samuel Bittenbender

Samuel Bittenbender, age 65, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away into heaven Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. The funeral service was held Thursday, August 6, 2015 with Pastor Steve Wallace officiating. Burial followed at Harless Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. for family and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Daddy loved the Lord, family and friends. He enjoyed Alabama football, Nascar and has lots of fond memories or bowling, snowmobiling, deep-sea fishing and hunting. Daddy loved serving people and enjoyed working at Strickland’s in the Pocono’s for 19 years. He loved his daughter, Marcia Hicks, and son-in-love, Jeff Hicks. He also loved his grandson, Mark McEwen, and step-grandchildren, Rachael and Jared Hicks. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel H. Bittenbender, and mother, Anna (Stalmer) Bittenbender. He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Hicks and son-in-love, Jeff Hicks; grandson, Mark McEwen; step-grandchildren, Rachael and Jared Hicks; and numerous other family and friends.
