Rebekah Higgins
Rebekah Higgins of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2024, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Rebekah is survived by her husband, Donny Higgins, two sons, C. J. Moeller and Jason Higgins, four daughters, Angela Moeller (Jimmy), Emily Wilhite (Justin), Heidi Pratt (Clay), and Holli Higgins. Her thirteen grandchildren include Piper and Sailor Higgins, Zoe and Zach Moeller, Tucker and Tyler Roper, Taylynn Sanders, Trinity and Ethan Yeager, Jayden Wilhite, Hudson and Josephine Pratt, and Stella-Rae Talley. Additionally, she has a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
Rebekah (or Bec-Bec as she was affectionately called) was born November 15,1961, in Jasper, Alabama, to her parents, Bobby and Retha Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and two sisters. Oftentimes, she recalled childhood memories when her family could always find a way to enjoy each other and have a good time. During her teenage years, she resided in Spring Creek, Alabama, and at seventeen, she began serving in the US Air Force. Later in May of 1993, she married Donny Higgins.
A devoted wife and mother, Rebekah spent most of her time as a homemaker. When she worked outside the home, she enjoyed the restaurant industry where she was known for her hard work and dependability. Additionally, she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and visiting Mentone, Alabama.
A visitation will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Charter Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2 pm. (2521 US Highway 31 Calera, Alabama 35040). Rebekah will be laid to rest in Spring Creek Cemetery in Shelby, AL.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen her in years but I can still that sweet laugh she had . She was quite a character back then . Your in my thoughts and prayers..
