Marcus Douglas Fondren

Marcus Douglas Fondren, age 66, of Brent, AL passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. He passed away surrounded by his family and friends at UAB West.
Marcus faced many difficult seasons in life and in time he turned his heart and life fully towards Jesus. He believed deeply in second chances and the grace that carries us through life’s hardest moments.
Marcus is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Fondren and Mildred Fondren. He is survived by his step-mother, Adelle Fondren; sisters, Renee Smith (Denny), Patricia Luker (Steve), Teresa Averette (Eddie); nieces, Stephanie Brown, Kayla Cottingham, and Kelsey Caffee; nephews, Tyler Clements and Casey Crocker; and six great nephews and three great nieces.
Services for Marcus will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at Sardis Church in Heiberger, AL. A visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Ray Grantham and Brother Jay Dockery will be officiating.
