Jammie Renee Cook

October 4, 1980 – November 27, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jammie Renee Cook, who left us on November 27, 2024, at the age of 44, in Birmingham, Alabama. Jammie was born on October 4,1980, in Garland, Texas, to her mother, Rhonalda Hall. She was married to the love of her life, Jeffrey Cook, for 25 beautiful years. Jammie was a proud mother to Austyn (son) and Addisyn (daughter), and her family meant the world to her.

Jammie dedicated her life to supporting her children in every aspect of their lives, always encouraging them in their hobbies, sports, and personal goals. She never missed a soccer game, a life event, or an opportunity to offer a warm hug and kiss. With a heart full of love, she would move heaven and earth to see a smile on someone’s face.

While Jammie was deeply loving, she was also competitive, feisty, and relentless. She would not take no for an answer, and when obstacles stood in the way of her or her family’s goals, she made sure to instill the belief that no matter the adversities, success was the only option. She pushed her children to do well in sports and schoolwork an continued to be their “Mama” long after they had grown and moved away.

Many nights were spent around the house with family playing Monopoly, where Jammie somehow always came out on top. She could sit for hours working on puzzles, enjoying quiet time with her kids, and planning the most unforgettable Disney trips for her family and friends. Jammie’s attention to detail and enthusiasm for making memories was unparalleled—she truly should have been paid for her expert trip planning.

In her professional life she devoted her time to helping military families as the OMBUDSMAN Chairman of NCBC Gulfport, MS and a Recovery Care Coordinator assisting injured and ill servicemembers returning from war and deployments. She late built her own successful Cleaning and Maintenance Company.

Jammie’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 6- 8 p.m. in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home in Calera. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Abundant Life Church in Alabaster at 12 noon where she will lie-in-state one hour prior to her service. Burial will follow in the Helena City Cemetery.
