George Glenford “Glen” Allen
George Glenford “Glen” Allen, age 81, of Alabaster, AL, died Thursday, December 22, 2016. Glen received a Degree in Biology from Birmingham Southern College and then obtained his Master’s of Cytology at the University of Miami. He also proudly served his country as a Staff Sargent in the US Army Medical Corp and went on to becoming a Captain in the National Guard. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Linda Borders Allen and daughter, Lisa Carol Allen. His survivors include his children, Brian Allen (Vanessa Miranda-Allen), Michael Allen and Vanessa McClure (Chris); sister, Carol Cosper; grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Cade McClure, Alessandra Allen, Luke McClure and Noah McClure and a host of other family members. A visitation will be 5-6 pm, Monday, December 26, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 6 pm at Charter Funeral Home.
Dad, you made my childhood the best I could have imagined. I will miss your quick laughter, sound advice and witty sayings and quotes. I love you and am happy that you e now found peace and are finally with mother and Lisa. I am sorry that you are gone, but I know that you’re in a better place with family a friends. It would be selfish of me to wish for you to still be here with us, but I do. May you Rest In Peace and always know that Michael, Vanessa and I, and our families will always love and think of you.
