Ember Alana Poe “Em”

Ember Alana Poe “Em”, age10, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 15, 2014, to her parents, Kelly Lane Poe and Vanne Allen Poe. Em had a passion for arts and crafts and was very talented at drawing and animation. She loved to spend time outdoors and singing on the swings. Em was teaching herself how to speak Dutch and had a dream to own a crystal shop in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She had a love for animals, but her absolute favorites were axolotls, dragons, foxes and cats. She adored her fur baby, Shadow (aka BBC).

Em is preceded by her great grandparents, Jane Holmes, Paul Holmes, Carolton Castleberry, Dave Price, Earl Castleberry, Ora Mae Poe, Betty Jean Patton, Charles Frazier and Lewis Capps; and great aunt, Valerie Holmes.

She is survived by her parents, Kelly Lane Poe (Stephanie Kalb) and Vanne Allen Poe (Jeanna Reed); sister, Allie Jane Poe; grandparents, Vicki Jones (Wendi), Tony Price (Joyce), Marsha Capps (Whit), and Paul Poe; great- granddad, Paul Poe Sr.; aunts, Kayla Price (Brandy Easterling) and Shannon Holmes; uncles, Wyatt Jones, Alex Capps (Hali), Joe Wright, and Curt Holmes; cousins, Bristol Capps, Indie Capps, and Luke Holmes; and a host best friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Montevallo Presbyterian Church at 3 pm. Brother Sam Hamilton-Poore will be officiating.

    Em was one of kind and she will never be forgotten. She always made me laugh when I saw her and I loved our conversations. Fly high Em, I love you sweet girl!

    I was Ember’s art teacher at MES. She truly loved to draw and had so much talent. She was easy to teach and always came up with new things to add to her work to make it her own. She will be truly missed.

    Van we been friends for along time. I know this is a hard time. Remember her as she was, a happy girl with a great father. She was a beautiful girl. Your family is heart broken. I know what your going through.
