Doris Price Goggins

Doris Price Goggins, age 77, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 31, 1945 to her parents, Edward L. and Lillie Mae Price, both have preceded her. Doris is also preceded by her sister Brenda Phillips.  Doris had a love for taking care of others as if they were her own. She had a passion for Southern Gospel Music, with her favorite groups being the Primitive Quartet and the Inspirations. She and her husband traveled to see “her boys” in concert every time she got a chance. Above all she loved to spend time doting on her family.

 She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Goggins; sons, Bentley Goggins, Theron Goggins (Tammy), and Clark Goggins (Susan); grandchildren, Justin Goggins (Joelene), Trey Goggins (Amber), Kayla Goggins, Tristan Goggins (JoAnn), Tabatha Hunt, and Amanda Goggins White (Deshun); great grandchildren, Lakain, Jordyn, Rhilyn, Josie, Jaxon, Dallas, August, Cash, Piper, Luke, Shyona, Deshylan, Dezirea, Kynslee and Deshun Jr.; sister, Trudy Alexander; brother, Elree Price; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. Doris will be laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery. Brother Don Vanderslice and Brother Tim Henry will be officiating.

    She was not just our cousin, but a great friend to my mom. Mom will miss her very much.

      Not a moment growing up doesn’t have some memory of Mrs Doris in it. She and my mom were bestfriends growing up. I love her so much she will surely be missed.
