Bobby “Joe” Simmons, Jr.

Bobby “Joe” Simmons, Jr. age 66, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on June 5, 1958, to his parents, Bobby Joes Simmons, Sr. and Catherine Louise Simmons, both have preceded him in passing.  Joe is also preceded by his sisters, Cathy Simmons and Kallie Simmons. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Simmons; children, Wesley and Melissa Simmons, Chad and Lauren Simmons, Ashley Simmons, Kamron Simmons, Daniel “DJ” Layne, and Garrett and Brandy Carden; siblings Josh Simmons (Tina) and Jamie Simmons; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1982-1988.

Services will be held at Charter Funeral Home with a visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11:30 am followed by a service at 12:30 pm. Joe will be laid to rest with military honors at the Alabama National cemetery at 2:00 pm.

    I went to school with Joey . He always made people laugh people loved being around him he was always a friendly person.

    What a great man of God. What a wonderful friend. Mr. Bobby loved his beautiful wife and his children. Words can’t express my loss for the family but I can say that when we leave this world and have given our hearts to our Savior Jesus Christ. We will be in heaven with our loved ones and our great God. Amen

    Joe Simmons and his wife were like the parents I never had! They were like the mother and father I never had as well as took my son Kamron from the time he turned 1 yrs old and raised him to be the most sweetest amazing young man he is today! They have done an amazing job and I loved Joe Simmons so much he will be greatly missed and remembered as the amazing man he was! Praying for everyone in the family!!!!!
