Beverly Jones Echols

Beverly Jones Echols, age 80, went to be home with the Lord on January 24, 2023. Beverly was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderful mother to two daughters, a Nana to five grandchildren, and had recently become a Great Nana. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Beverly loved the Lord and her family. She was a founding member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL and served as the first administrative assistant. Beverly loved her summers at the lake. As a young woman, she was an expert water skier and continued to ski into her 50s. Beverly loved growing flowers, sewing, and playing with her dog, Cody. She also enjoyed antique shopping with her friends.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Genevieve Volz Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Robert; two daughters, Debbie Matthews (Gene) and Angela Rockett (David); five grandchildren, Olivia Matthews Mitchell (Tyler), Ryan Matthews, Chandler Rockett (Marina), Julianne Rockett Maynard (Tradarius), and Carson Rockett; and one great-grandchild, JB Rockett.

The family will accept visitors at the Charter Funeral Home, 2521 US Hwy 31, Calera, AL, on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Graveside service and burial will be on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m., 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Barlett, TN, 38133. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 832, Alabaster, AL 35007.
