Robert Charles Henderson, Sr

Robert Charles Henderson, Sr, 75, of Jemison, AL, went to be with his Savior on Sept 3, 2015. He was predeceased by his sons Tony & Jeff, grandson KJ, his parents & 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Eva; his siblings Jerrial (Roberta), & Ann Wilson; his children Chuck (Karen), Mark (Debbie), Daryl (Tiffany), Jason (William), Jubal, & Rebecca (Carol); 9 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren & friends Helen & Paul Hornyak. Robert loved family, the US Navy, Arkansas football, gardening, fishing, chocolate, a loose slot machine, his constant animal companions & all holidays. He won a national country song writer award and his work was showcased on the Barbara Mandrell show. A US Naval enlistee, he was honorably discharged in 1963. Robert worked in the construction field for decades & retired in 2007. As an expert heavy equipment operator & supervisor, his work ethic was exceptional. He accepted no less from others. His character was without question. Visitation will begin at 11am, Weds. Sept 9th with services held at 12 noon. Interment will be at 2 pm in the Alabama National Cemetery: In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Chilton County Animal Shelter: 139 Shade Tree Dr, Clanton, AL 35045.
